PODIUM Festival 2026

Kompani Haugesund had once again the pleasure of collaborating with the PODIUM Festival, participating in the concert “Frank Zappa – Hot Rats og andre skadedyr” in Festiviteten on June 16, 2026. The performance featured our dancers Ine Halvorsen, Elida Jondal Thorsen and Victoria Jane Harley, moving to the iconic musical work: Drumming -part 1 by Steve Reich.

Our dancers worked with group improvisation based on a movement language and a score they created. The movement phrases draw inspiration from choreographer Anna Theresa de Keersmaeker, the music and dynamics between the dancers. The artistic process was based on a set of movement scores developed as compositional frameworks. 

The project unfolded as a close collaboration between dancers and musicians, creating a dialogue between movement and live music. The encounter offered opportunities for artistic exchange, experimentation, and shared exploration across disciplines.
